How Kyma Fits Into a Health-Conscious Home

How Kyma Fits Into a Health-Conscious Home

There is clean… and then there is Kyma clean.

Most conventional cleaners are heavy on harsh chemicals and single-use plastic, and light on safety. While they remove stains, they can also leave behind toxins, fumes, and residues nobody wants in their space.

But a health-conscious home does not settle for surface-level cleanliness. It demands products that actually support wellbeing, for kids, pets, allergies, and long-term indoor air quality.

Our formulas are designed for every home. Homes with kids crawling, pets lying on the floor, meals being cooked daily, and cleaning happening regularly. That is why we focus on ingredients that clean effectively without being harsh, aggressive, or overwhelming.

A health-conscious home does not need more products.
It needs products that respect the space, the people, and the air inside it.

Kyma does not  replace your lifestyle -  it supports it.

What “Non-Toxic” Really Means (And Why It Matters)

Let’s be honest -  the terminology “non-toxic” is everywhere now.

But what does it actually mean?

Here’s the truth:
The term "toxic" in a consumer safety context has not been legally defined as of today. The closest we may get is the general definition by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). Under their Federal Hazardous Substances Act, the CPSC classifies a product as toxic if it “can cause personal injury or illness to humans when inhaled, swallowed, or absorbed through the skin.”

This means that according to this definition, any product claiming to be non-toxic has to be extensively tested for those effects.
What non-toxic does not mean, however is “chemical-free”, but it expects manufacturers to ensure the safety and security of their product and its ingredients.

At Kyma, non-toxic means intentional.

It means: Choosing ingredients that are effective without being aggressive or harmful, both to humans and pets, as well as to our environment (for example through wastewater). Our chemist formulate avoiding known irritants, harsh disinfectants, and unnecessary additives, and formulating products that are safe for frequent, everyday use.

At Kyma, every ingredient is tested for safety before inclusion. That means removing common harmful elements like parabens, phosphates, ammonia, VOCs, chlorine bleach and phthalates.

But safety and non-toxicity isn’t just about what we leave out - it’s about what we put in:

  • Clean synthetic fragrances that don’t pollute your air or aggravate allergies.

  • Food-grade colorants used responsibly to make life easier and safer.

  • Naturally derived boosters like citric acid and sodium bicarbonate to enhance cleaning power.

  • Carefully selected surfactants that lift grease and grime without harsh irritation.
